Hello my fellow umphreaks! I miss you all so much. What a crazy time we are all experiencing right now. I hope you are all staying safe, staying at home and washing your hands! I am currently working on multiple blogs to bring you folks but until then I just wanted to check in how you are doing. You all are my family and it is so weird to think that I may not see any of you until June! Please, please reach out to me with anything you need at all! I’d love to talk and just make sure you’re doing ok! We could factime and drink or we could talk about Umphrey’s or we could just talk about anything you want!
I wanted to share a somewhat funny story with you all because it’s literally the most exciting thing happening in my life right now. When I was younger, I was in love with the “High School Musical” franchise. It aired when I was in middle school and I genuinely thought that that was what high school was going to be like. And I’m not going to lie, I was a little disappointed to see that it wasn’t even remotely similar. But those movies were my shit. I remember making sure that I was home on time for the premier of the movies on the Disney Channel. That was the most important thing in my life at ten years old. But as you get older you have more things that go on in your life and so those other small things don’t stay as important to you. Now I’m 24 and Disney has put all their movies and shows on a new streaming app. Well, naturally, High School Musical was on the top of my list. I watched the infamous trilogy the other day and once Troy and Gabriella started to sing that opening song, I was instantly flooded with all the memories and feelings that I had at ten years old watching this movie for the first time. Yes, there were many cringy parts of the saga but that music that I knew and loved so much and still remembered every word to fourteen years later, made my heart and my soul so happy. And since I watched the movie the words “Were all in this together” have stayed with me.
I want to encourage you all to take advantage of this time at home. Do some yoga, smoke some weed, get your feng shui on, get back to yourself. Watch your favorite movies, listen to your favorite music, remind yourself of why you’re here. Come back to the world with all of that loving energy that may have been buried by a busy work schedule.
The music industry has been so kind to all of us at this time. It reminds me of what a special world it is that I’ve chosen to be a part of (or did it choose me?). The fact that we can all be so kind to each other, even though the world isn’t being kind to us, is truly something magical. We truly are all in this together. Please message me on Facebook or email me at Mulcheobliged1348@gmail.com. I’m here to listen, give advice, to drink with, literally anything you need! I’m sending so much umph love to all of you out there. Keep fighting and keep your head up. I can’t wait to reunite again and dance the night away with all of you.
