Ryan Stasik, Pony, Bassik Stasik-however you may know him as, you know that this gentleman is not shy when it comes to the entertainment industry. This man will go out of his way to keep not only the Umphrey’s loving community entertained, but himself as well. He does not fall short when it comes to comedic ideas, goofy tactics and a colorful personality.
Conduit Magazine (a monthly e-magazine all about Umphrey's McGee put together by Sara Jachimiak and myself) held a mock presidential campaign between “Farag’s Curls” (Andy Farag) and “Stasik’s Stache” (Ryan Stasik). Both men were completely on board and provided impeccable content for us to bring to the public about the campaign. From the results of a poll taken in the Umphreak community, Farag’s Curls will be taking office for this term. The vote was close though, coming down to only a one vote difference. The umphreak community was divided when it comes to who will reign the greatest, but alas, Farag’s curls were granted the winning ballot and history was made. After all, it is the year of Andy.
While Farag took a more serious approach to his campaign, Stasik brought a goofy aura to his, providing us with nothing but laughs and good spirit. He, being a good sport after losing the campaign, was willing to provide us with one last bit of information to hold us over and provide some closure to this campaign until his next projects take flight. Here Ryan Stasik’s “concession speech” regarding the results of the election.
“Well done people, you made the right call with Andy. Now I can go back to my dream of becoming a famous rapper. Pen to paper baby!!!”
"I concede, though I never had a chance.
Back to my studio, wearing everything but pants!"

A quick Q & A with Ryan Stasik:
Leah: So now that your "Stache" has been relieved of any presidential duties, what are its winter quarantine plans?
Ryan: Now that my stache has been relieved, it has actually been relieved as my upper lip is balder than Bruce Willis. When the time is right, I'll grow another Burt Reynolds-esque stache to make the Trans Am relationship pop.
L: Is the wintertime a good time to write new music? Or is it a better time for listening?
R: Working on a new morning routine this Winter.
wake up > bfast with kids and coffee > work out > listen to music half hour > write music > rest of day
I like listening first so I get inspired to write.
L: What/whose music is getting you through the times right now?
R: Listening to a lot of Donny Benet, obscure Xmas playlists, obscure Metal playlists, and Gospel music.
L: Do you have any plans to produce/play music in the new year?
R: I definitely have plans to release music with all three of the groups i'm involved with in 2021. New records from UM, an EP hopefully with The Hazards, and a new Flamingo EP, Power Hour Video, and music videos from Doom Flamingo.
L: What is your number one New Year's "Resolution?"
R: My New Year's Resolution: Health and fitness balanced with family/music life. One
day at a time works best for me.
A huge thank you goes out to Ryan Stasik for humoring us and going along with our festivities! We can't wait to see you on the other side of our COVID nightmares.
